This is an ongoing project about District 6 in Zürich, Switzerland.

It is the neighborhood where I grew up and where I still live today. It is a quiet, family-friendly area, and I know almost everyone here. It is the place where I feel at home.

The district lies below the Zürichberg. From here, I can reach the city very quickly, but I am also close to Irchelpark and the forest, which I can access within three minutes. Being close to nature is very important to me, as it helps me to relax.

This project is about documenting the place I experience every day. It is where I go buy the bread for breakfast, visit the doctor, go to church, or simply take a walk. Many photographers travel far to find interesting subjects. There is nothing wrong with that—I also enjoy traveling and photographing new places.

For a long time, I thought photographing my own neighborhood would be boring and that nothing was really happening here. Over time, I began to see it differently. I now see it as a challenge and a way to grow as a photographer: to observe and document what is familiar and feels normal.

I believe it is often more difficult to create strong images in a place you know well than in a foreign country, where everything appears new and special.
